Individual Coaching...

Approach

Individual Coaching involves the provision of one-on-one support to an organizational member by an experienced OLC associate.

The purpose of individual coaching is to help the organizational member improve their ability to perform their assigned role within the organization.

Coaching support normally focuses on a specific knowledge and skill in which the organizational member wishes to improve their capability.

Individual Coaching covers both the hard capabilities required to plan and successfully undertake functional and project tasks or soft capabilities associated with managing, supporting, and motivating people.

OLC’s experience is that requests for individual coaching often arise out of experience gained by an organizational leader from utilizing OLC services. This experience leads to recognition that more and more organizational members could benefit from individual coaching from one of the OLC associates the organization’s leaders have learned to respect and trust.

Coaching often involves the organizational member developing their capabilities in areas important to implementing change. OLC associates have gained an in-depth understanding of “why it is so difficult to change” and the value of coaching to help organizational members deal with understanding and supporting new methods, which differ from prior experience.
